होठों से छू लिया मैंने, बाँहों में आज भर लिया है,

तेरी खुशबू को सीने में आज समां लिया हैं मैंने

प्यार के सपने जो मैं देख रहा हूँ,

हर एक सपने में तेरा साथ पा लिया है मैंने

तू मेरी धड़कन, मेरा प्यार, मेरा विश्वास है,

बिन तेरे ये ज़िन्दगी बस एक प्यास है|

जानता हूँ मैं, तू किसी और की शान है

पर तेरी ये ख़ुशी, और ये मुस्कान बस मेरी ही तो पहचान है|

बिखर गया हूँ जिस दिन से तूने अपना रुख मोड़ा,

छोड़कर बाँहें मेरी, तूने किसी और का हाथ थामा|

है कौन यहाँ जो अब पिरोए मुझे एक धागे मे,

सब धागे ही कच्चे है, फिर टूट गया तो क्या।

अश्कों ने आँखों से यूँ दोस्ती कर ली है, कि

मुस्कान ने होठों का साथ ही छोड़ दिया है|

फिर भी अतीत के सपने पलकों में छुपाए

जीने का फैसला कर लिया है, मैंने |

English Translation (After You Left)

Touched you with my lips, wrapped you in my arms

I have filled my heart with your sweet scent

I have found togetherness with you

In all the dreams I see about love

You are my heartbeat, my love, my faith

I cannot quench life’s thirst without you.

I know now, that you are now someone else’s pride

But your smile and happiness are no one else’s but my mine

I have fallen apart since the day you bid me goodbye

You swept away from my arms to hold someone else’s hand.

Is there no one to weave my broken heart together?

But these threads are untrustable, what if it breaks again?

My tears and my eyes are such close friends, that

my smile has faded away from my lips.
